Once upon a scorching July afternoon in 2023, I found myself perched on my mother’s balcony, contemplating life with a couple of chilled beers in hand. The Austrian sun was relentless, turning everything into a melting pot, including my brain cells. As I gazed at my mother’s magnificent garden, bursting with vibrant flowers and flourishing vegetables, a quirky idea sprouted within my overheated mind.

In a moment of artistic exuberance, I spotted a bowl of assorted fruits beckoning from the table. Inspiration struck like a lightning bolt, fueled by the combination of the blazing sun, the beers, and the whimsical charm of the fruit bowl. Grabbing a burning torch, I seized a plump tomato from the bowl and embarked on my creative escapade. With a tomato in hand and determination in my eyes, I set to work. I began etching away, molding the tomato’s surface to resemble the profile of a great man—the echoes of Austrian success and influence pulsating through the fiery core of this impromptu masterpiece.

As the flames danced on the tomato’s skin, I envisioned a regal prince emerging from the depths of the vegetable kingdom. With each careful stroke of the torch, I shaped his noble features, imparting an air of majesty to the tomato prince. It was a labor of love, an ode to both creativity and capriciousness. When the final flickers of the torch subsided, there it was—a prince of fruit, a tomato transformed into royalty, exuding a splendor that could rival any Renaissance portrait. Elated by my creation, I captured several pictures, each one capturing the essence of this fruity monarch.

Yet, my artistic journey was far from over. Armed with technology and a playful spirit, I delved into the digital realm, applying filters and enhancing colors, breathing life into my tomato prince. The artwork came to life, boasting a vibrancy and magnificence that transcended its humble origin.

In that serendipitous moment, amidst the balmy Austrian air and the laughter of the sun, I realized that creativity knows no bounds, even in the guise of a tomato prince.
